>>Police Investigating Reading Shooting As a Homicide
(Reading, PA) -- The Reading Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened last Wednesday in the 200 block of Maple Street as a homicide. Officers responded to the area of South 9th Street and Chestnut as a result of EMS being flagged down for a man who had been shot. The victim, who was later identified as Jarel Lunsford from Reading, was transported to Reading Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. He was 36. According to investigators, Lunsford had met with an unknown person in the in the 200 block of Maple Street and during the encounter, shots were fired by both Lunsford and the person. Police say the investigation is still ongoing, and no arrests have been made.
