>>Lebanon Man Pleads Guilty to Cruelty in Cutting off Dogs' Ears

(Lebanon, PA) -- The Pennsylvania SPCA says a Lebanon man has pleaded guilty to 16 counts of animal cruelty. Steven Alston was sentenced to six to 23 months in prison, followed by two years of probation for cutting the ears off seven puppies with scissors without anesthesia. The SPCA says he prolonged the suffering of the German Shepherds, resulting in the deaths of three dogs who died from untreated injuries. Thirty-four dogs were removed from Alston's property. All living animals that were rescued made full recoveries and were placed in homes.
