(Harrisburg, PA) -- Nearly five million dollars in state-awarded grants will soon fund more than a dozen projects for watershed restoration and protection across south-central Pennsylvania. State officials from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection say the "Growing Greener Grants" make up the largest investment of state funding that directly addresses critical environmental concerns The funds will go to non-profit organizations, watershed groups, and county and cities. In Lancaster County, the groups include the Little Conestoga Creek Foundation, which will get more than two million dollars and the Little Conestoga Watershed Alliance. The funds are part of a larger statewide award of $18 million.
