(Allentown, PA) -- Ryan Mackenzie appears to have defeated Gary Day in the Republican race for the redrawn 187th House District. Lehigh County voting officials report that Mackenzie won with 61 percent of the votes to Day's 39 percent. Day tells "The Morning Call" that he was disappointed with the first results, but he thanked God, his family and his political allies for their support during the election.

(Allentown, PA) -- Elections officials will have to verify the results of the 16th Senate District on Wednesday. State Senator Pat Browne was trailing school board member Jarrett Coleman from Upper Macungie Township in the Republican race late Tuesday. Unofficial, incomplete results show Coleman was up by just 21 votes, as of early Wednesday morning. The winner will face Democrat Mark Pinsley, of Whitehall Township, who is unopposed in the primary.

(Allentown, PA) -- In voting for the 14th Senate District Tuesday night, Nick Miller, of Allentown appears to have won the seat. He had leads over Tara Zrinski, of Hanover Township and Yamelisa Taveras, of Allentown, for the Democratic nomination in the 14th Senate District. The seat covers Lehigh and Northampton counties. On the Republican side, the results showed Dean Browning, of South Whitehall Township, leading Lehigh Township resident Cindy Miller and Allen Township resident Omy J. Maldonado.

(Allentown, PA) -- GOP Pennsylvania 7th Congressional District candidates show Lisa Scheller and Kevin Dellicker having a narrow margin of returned ballots as of midnight Tuesday. Scheller, an industrial executive and former Lehigh County commissioner had a lead of two and a half percentage points over veteran Kevin Dellicker, according to unofficial, incomplete results. Incumbent Democrat Susan Wild was not opposed in the primary.
