(Reading, PA) -- The Reading City Council has removed Ernest H. Schlegel from the Reading Redevelopment Authority board. Schlegel's removal reportedly came after he used a racial slur in an e-mail. He has publicly apologized for doing so. The removal was effective immediately. The action was taken Thursday at a special meeting by a vote of 5-0 after the apology.
