(Reading, PA) -- Reading Mayor Eddie Moran is asking the City Council to speed up the process of getting more than five-million dollars in federal money distributed to area organizations. The money from the American Recovery Plan Act funds is earmarked for Reading nonprofits. Last week, the council introduced an ordinance to divide the ARPA funds among ten nonprofits selected by a review committee and an additional 15 recommended by the mayor.
