(Allentown, PA) -- Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper will begin a rehab assignment with the Lehigh Valley IronPigs today. The club announced Monday that his gig at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown will start Tuesday, with Harper playing in the designated hitter position through Friday. Team officials say he has lingering damage in his throwing elbow from getting injured in June. The 2021 National League MVP was hit in the thumb with a 90-mile-an-hour ball while at bat against San Diego. If all goes well, he'll get back to his Philadelphia team Monday for a game in Arizona.
