(Reading, PA) - Reading's planning commission has approved a development plan for affordable housing for homeless veterans. Three land parcels in the 600 block of Walnut Street will be combined for the project. The Berks County Redevelopment Authority says it will renovate the existing buildings to create 12 single-bedroom and studio apartments for homeless veterans. The project will cost a little over two-million-dollars and is expected to be finished by the end of this year.
