(Reading, PA) - District attorneys from Berks and Montgomery Counties say local authorities have broken up a multimillion-dollar drug ring that was run from prison. They held a news conference Thursday detailing the arrests of 17 out of 27 defendants who are charged in the case. They say the drug ring was run out of the federal prison in Minersville and involved shipping cocaine and fentanyl through the mail from Mexico to Berks and Montgomery counties. The case will be prosecuted in Berks County.
