(Reading, PA) -- Three colleges in Reading have been awarded two-million-dollars each in federal ARPA funds. During its Monday night meeting, the Reading City Council amended its budget for funds from the American Rescue Plan Act and approved giving two-million-dollars each to Alvernia University, Albright College and Reading Area Community College. RACC plans to use the funds to convert Weitz Hall into the Weitz Healthcare Pavilion. Albright College officials will renovate Gingrich Library into a student commons and library, and Alvernia University will use its share of the money for its CollegeTowne project on Penn Street.
