City Council To Proceed with Filing Council President Slot
(Reading, PA) -- Members of the Reading City Council will go forward with a vote next week to fill the vacant the position of council president. Councilwoman Donna Reed, who currently serves as vice president, reportedly was the only person at Tuesday night's meeting to express an interest in the position. The seat became vacant at the end of December when Johanny Cepeda-Freytiz resigned to become a state representative. Councilwoman Melissa Ventura expressed interest nominating herself for the vice president's position if it becomes available.
