Former Reading School District Superintendent to be Next State Ed Secretary
(Reading, PA ) -- Governor elect Josh Shapiro's nominee for secretary of education is the former superintendent of Reading Schools. A news release says Khalid Mumin will be nominated after Shapiro is inaugurated January 17th. Mumin has been superintendent of the Lower Merion School district in suburban Philadelphia for a little over a year. Before that, he was superintendent at the Reading School District and won state superintendent of the year while there. He was recognized for his efforts from the superintendents' trade association.
