Former Verizon Employee Accused of Stealing 45K in Cell Phones

(Reading, PA) -- Court officials say a Reading man has turned himself in after he has been charged with stealing nearly 45-thousand-dollars' worth of cellphones from his employer. Prosecutors say James Raphael allegedly committed the thefts when he worked at the Verizon store in the Berkshire Mall in 2021. Wyomissing police say he was declared a fugitive over a year ago but turned himself in Monday.
