>Some GOP Members Call for Rozzi's Resignation
(Reading, PA) -- Some Republican members of the state assembly are calling for local lawmaker Mark Rozzi to resign due to legislative turmoil in the House. The new Speaker, a six-term Democrat who represents parts of Reading, was elected speaker earlier this month. However, legislative activity is now at a standstill in due to partisan gridlock over which party is in control. The Senate also has canceled its voting sessions for the next two weeks. On Sunday, Rozzi announced plans to embark on a statewide "listening tour" about how to break the impasse. Now, it will be a few weeks before any further legislative activity is conducted in either the House or Senate.
