Man Found Guilty of Assaulting Police Officer
(Berks County, PA) -- A 23-year-old man from Morgantown has been found guilty of aggravated assault of a police officer. The charges against Jacob Aharonian were presented in a three-day trial that ended Thursday. A jury found that Aharonian assaulted Officer Thomas Brecker in June of 2020 at a Sheetz location in Caernarvon. Brecker hit his head on the sidewalk during the struggle. He has since recovered and returned to duty. Aharonian's father, Edward, also was charged with disarming a law enforcement officer for his part in the assault. He previously agreed to enter a pretrial diversionary program, which he successfully completed.
