Violent Gang Leader Sentenced to Life in Prison Plus 10 Years
(Reading, PA) -- A 33-year-old Reading man who prosecutors say is a leader with the Gangster Disciples has been sentenced to life in prison plus ten years. Karvarise Person was tried in June of last year for his part in a sex-trafficking operation ran by the Sevens gang out of a boarding house on South 4th Street. Federal officials say as part of his racketeering business, he raped, robbed, caged, shot and violently beat people and caused others to do the same, under his command. Another man James Goode, who is 47 and also from Reading, was convicted at the same time of being a drug supplier and associate of the same gang and its activities. He got 37 years in prison.
