Students Get Virtual Visit from LA Laker, Reading Native Lonnie Walker
(Reading, PA) -- Elementary students in Reading have gotten a surprise virtual visit from a Reading native who's now with the L-A Lakers. Reading High graduate Lonnie Walker dropped into a video conference late last week aimed at boosting the mental, emotional and physical health of the students. He talked to them about his amazing teachers in Reading who "helped me to be who I am today." Walker, who refers to himself as "just a kid from Reading," attended Northwest elementary and junior high schools before going on to make basketball history at Reading High.
