Family of Four Escapes Home Fire in Kenhorst

(Reading, PA) -- A family of four who lived in a home over a storefront in Kenhorst has been able to escape a fire unharmed. The two-alarm overnight fire Monday damaged the home in the 14-hundred block of Lancaster Avenue that was being renovated. Chief Dwayne Hart says the fire likely started above the ceiling on the second floor, but its exact cause isn't yet known. The vacant commercial space on the ground floor formerly housed Imperial Monuments of Berks County.
