Incarcerated Man Charged With 2016 Killing Of Berks Resident
(Reading, PA) -- A former Pottstown man who is already in prison on robbery charges will soon be charged with killing a Berks man in 2016. Investigators say murder and robbery charges will be brought against Darrell A. Johnson for the death of Michael Shields. Investigators allege the killing happened during Johnson's attempt to steal a dirt bike from a garage in Amity Township. D-A John Adams said Tuesday that Johnson had been imprisoned on unrelated robbery charges since shortly after Shields was killed, but results from their nearly seven-year-investigation have continued to point to him.
