(Reading, PA) -- A woman who was born in Berks County has been chosen to lead the state's homeland security efforts. State Police Commissioner Christopher Paris has announced that State Police Captain Michaelann Andrusiak has been promoted to the rank of major and has been appointment director of the Governor's Office of Homeland Security. The position coordinates with state police, federal agencies, local governments and the private sector to secure the commonwealth against acts of terrorism and to ensure public safety. Andrusiak now lives in Montgomery County but is from Reading. She has worked as a patrol trooper, a criminal investigator and most recently was director of the Drug Law Enforcement Division within the Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
