NTSB: Candy Factory Explosion Involved Natural Gas Pipeline
(West Reading, PA) -- Federal officials are giving their initial assessment of the cause of the explosion at the R.M. Palmer Company factory. Officials from the National Transportation Safety Board said Thursday that an investigator who's been at the site indicates the accident involved a natural gas pipeline. They stress that conclusion is only a preliminary finding and that another inspector will be at the scene Thursday to conduct a safety investigation.
