Young Berks County Woman Sentenced For Role In Gun Trafficking Operation

(Reading, PA) - A 24-year-old Berks County woman will be spending up to two years in jail for her role in a gun trafficking network that spanned several counties. Prosecutors say Makayla Prince of West Reading has been as sentenced after she pleaded guilty to illegally buying guns through straw purchases. That means she purchased them but then gave the guns to others who didn't have permits or for weren't legally allowed to purchase them. Prince is one of 14 people charged in the gun ring that operated in Montgomery, Berks, Bucks, Lancaster and Philadelphia counties.
