Troopers Shoot Armed Man at Huge House Fire in Chester County
(Reading, PA) -- Pennsylvania State Police say a trooper has shot a Chester County homeowner at the scene of a huge house fire. It happened Monday night in West Nantmeal Township, about five miles south of Berks County. It's not known why troopers were called to the scene, but they reportedly were confronted by the homeowner with a gun in the driveway. When the man refused to obey their commands, a trooper fired and hit the homeowner in his hand and leg. He's in critical but stable condition. The trooper is on administrative duty pending an investigation.
