Missing Reading Man Found Dead, Case Now A Homicide
(Reading, PA) -- A 19-year-old Reading man who was reported missing last week has been found dead in a remote wooded area. Reading Police say they're investigating Javien Perch's death as a homicide. They have not said how Perch died or why the case is being treated at a homicide. His body was discovered a few miles from where doorbell surveillance video shows a man - believed to be Perch - walking down the sidewalk. His family had told police he'd walked to a friend's home last Tuesday night but never made it. Reading's police chief says they've assigned more investigators to find out what happened.
