Democrat Donna Reed Wins Primary for City Council President

(Reading, PA) -- Democrat Donna Reed has won the vote in primary balloting Tuesday for Reading's City Council president. Reed is the acting council president, won 57-percent of the vote to secure her party's nomination over Virna Quiñones. Reed will face Republican Evelyn Morrison in November's general election. Morrison ran unopposed in her party's primary. Reed has been serving as the council president since the end of last year, when Johanny Cepeda-Freytiz resigned to become a state representative.
