Local Extract Company's Expansion Will Need 85 New Positions

(Lancaster County, PA) - Food manufacturer Shank's Extracts L-L-C is expanding in Lancaster Country. Company leaders have announced they'll spend more than 30-million-dollars to add manufacturing, packaging and storage capacity at their plant in East Hempfield Township. Governor Josh Shapiro says the expansion will retain 234 jobs and add 85 new positions at the facility on Richardson Drive. The state is kicking in grants of nearly 400-thousand-dollars to support job training and other expansion-related expenses. Shank's parent company makes more than 24-hundred extracts, natural flavors and colors for food and beverage customers.
