Public Comments Solicited before River Road Extension Opens

(Reading, PA) -- Reading City Councilors are asking for public comments before a much-anticipated extension on River Road can be opened. Council President Donna Reid says the City Council must adopt an ordinance authorizing the opening and development of the nine-hundred block of Lincoln Street before the extension can be used. An ordinance was introduced May 22nd to provide an opportunity for public comment on the development near the Schuylkill Avenue bridge. Two public hearings are scheduled to happen June 12th and June 26th at 7 p.m. in council chambers at Reading City Hall. The council is expected to act on the proposed ordinance at the June 26th meeting.
