Reading City Council President Vows To Fight Violence After Double Shooting

(Reading, PA) -- Reading City Council President Donna Reed says she and other city leaders will continue to work hard to fight gun violence. Her comments came Wednesday to WFMZ-TV after charges were pressed against two men after a double shooting in downtown Reading. Police say they were shot while driving in the three-hundred block of Penn Street early Sunday. Jorge Mercado-Castro, who was 32, died at the hospital Monday from his injuries. Kevin Irizzary-DeMarco, 24, and John Roman, 31, face homicide charges in the case. Berks County District Attorney John Adams says much of the shooting was caught on video.
