Charges Brought Against Fuel Theft Ring

(Reading, PA) -- The Berks County district attorney is bringing charges against what he calls a retail theft ring, suspected of stealing at least 150-thousand-dollars' worth of fuel. District Attorney John Adams says the thefts happened at Redner's Quick Shops and Speedway stores in Berks County as well as other stores in Lancaster County. He says the thieves were able to put the gas pumps in a certain mode in order to steal diesel fuel. Adams identified the suspects as Rafael Payamps-Valerio, Cleudy Monegro-Leonardo and Gilce Matista-Garcia. He says some of the charges were filed recently for the thefts that happened last year.
