Long-Stagnant Dana South Industrial Park Purchased

(Reading, PA) -- A long-stagnant industrial park may soon see some new life. Reading City Councilors have approved the sale of the 50-acre site west of Clinton Street to NewCold USA Real Estate. The company told officials previously that it will build an automated warehouse and cold-storage distribution center there. A holding company for NewCold, which bought the site for four-and-a-half-million-dollars, will have a year to get the necessary zoning and planning permits approved. The site had been used as a rail yard by the Dana Corporation before it closed down its manufacturing facility in northwest Reading in 2000.
