One Person Injured after 4-Alarm Fire Shoemakersville

(Berks Co., PA) -- Officials are investigating the source of a huge fire at an apartment building in Shoemakersville that caused a four-alarm response. Assistant Fire Chief David Rubright says one person was taken to the hospital early Thursday morning with a burn injury He says about 100 firefighters worked for several hours to beat down the blaze in the one-hundred block of Main Street. Witnesses told officials that it started in a truck that was parked near the apartments, but inspectors haven't confirmed that. The fire destroyed the entire building. Officials haven't said how many people lived there.
