School Reopening For Coming School Year In Doubt Due To Flood Damage

>High School Reopening In Time For Coming School Year In Doubt Due To Flood Damage

(Reading, PA) -- School district officials in Reading say one school building received so much water in last Sunday's flooding that it might not be ready in time for classes in August. Antietam High School took on water throughout 90-percent of the building, knocking out critical infrastructure. Governor Josh Shapiro toured the school and surrounding region Tuesday. He remarked that getting area streets cleared of debris to reopen was the first priority. Now that that's been done, school officials can more closely evaluate what work the school building and interior will need to be restored.
