Reading Police Chief To Retire Monday
(Reading, PA) - The police chief in Reading will reportedly retire today. WFMZ-TV says Chief Richard Tornielli has confirmed he will retire July 31st after he and Mayor Eddie Moran agreed to "a change of strategy" for public safety and fighting violent crime. In all, Tornielli has worked for the city for 22 years. A statement from the mayor says his administration will conduct a nationwide search for a replacement and that he'll appoint an interim chief while the search is being done.
