U.S. Rep. Chrissy Houlahan Touts Need For Childhood Literacy Programs

(Reading, PA) -- U.S. Rep. Chrissy Houlahan is touting the need for more childhood literacy programs. During her panel discussion on the subject Monday at Reading Area Community College, the congresswoman shared that her views on childhood education were instilled by her Holocaust-survivor father, who told her that education was one of the only things that can't be taken away from a person. Her new organization called Springboard Collaborative focuses on providing underserved children with the reading skills they need to compete.
