(Berks County, PA) -- An investigation is under way after an alligator was found in a Berks County creek. The two and a half foot long gator was found by a landscaper in a creek behind a home on North Prospect Street in Exeter Township. Police were able to remove the gator that was then turned over to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County. An investigation into how the gator got into the creek or whom it may belong to is ongoing. In Pennsylvania, it is legal to own a pet alligator but it is illegal to release it into the wild.
