(Bethlehem, PA) -- Over a million people are expected to converge on Bethlehem over the next ten days for the 39th annual MusikFest. Kassie Hilgert, who is president of ArtsQuest, the nonprofit that puts on the event, says one-point-24-million people came last year from 39 states and eight countries. A police presence for the event has been stepped up because of a shooting last year. The event that began on Thursday stretches to eleven days this year with headliners including Willie Nelson & Family, Poison, Counting Crows, and Kelsea Ballerina. MusikFest is the country's largest non-gated free music festival, which promoters say generates over 50-million dollars to the local economy each year.
