(Reading, PA) -- An insurance company that was started in Berks County in 1890 is being bought out by a York firm. McConkey Insurance and Benefits, an independent insurance brokerage in Springettsbury Township, has purchased the Gallen Insurance Agency in Cumru Township. A McConkey spokesperson says principals Dave Gallen and Ann Gallen Moll will be staying with the company. Gallen will operate as Gallen Insurance, a McConkey Company going forward.
