>>Berks Animal Shelters Offer Free Adoptions This Weekend
(Reading, PA) -- The Animal Rescue League of Berks County and Humane Pennsylvania are hosting a free, special push to "clear the shelters" this weekend. It's part of a national campaign to offer free animal adoptions. Humane Pennsylvania will be offering fee-waived adoptions Friday through Sunday at its shelters in Reading and Lancaster. The Freedom Center for Animal Life-Saving in Reading and the Lancaster Center for Animal Life-Saving also are participating. They'll be open for adoptions between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day. All potential adopters are still required to go through a screening process.
