Special Deer Hunting Program to Continue at Antietam Lake Park
(Reading, PA) -- Berks County officials say they'll continue a deer hunting program this fall that's helping to control the population at Antietam Lake Park. They will allow bow users who have special licenses to start hunting in September. Hunting of any kind is typically not allowed in the park. The controlled archery hunt will run through the end of January. The hunters were selected to participate in the program by Wildlife Services through an application process. They will also be allowed to harvest the meat for themselves.
