Berks County Shelter Takes in Animals from Hurricane Idalia

(Reading, PA) -- A Berks County shelter has taken in animals that had been waiting in Florida to be adopted. Humane Pennsylvania in Reading says they received the dogs and cats who were flown to Pennsylvania shortly after Hurricane Idalia's [[[ ee-DAL-yah's ]] arrival. Officials say the six dogs and 15 cats were moved out of the Humane Society of Tampa Bay's shelter in order to make room for pets that have been made homeless by the storm. The cats and dogs who are now in Reading will be checked out by a veterinarian, then will be available for adoption later in the week.
