(West Reading, PA) -- The City of West Reading now has a new police chief. Richard Tornielli was sworn in Tuesday by Mayor Samantha Kaag. He was previously the police chief in Reading for 22 years before retiring earlier this summer. In West Reading, Tornielli oversees 13 officers and four civilians. In Reading, he led nearly 170 officers and 34 city employees. West Reading had been without a chief since April, when Wayne Holben stepped down after ten months to return to being a sergeant.
