>> County Say Flood Work Ongoing In Northern Berks County

(Maidencreek Township, PA) -- Officials in Maidencreek Township say they've applied for emergency permits from the state to help prevent more flood damage from Willow Creek. Township Supervisor Josh Meck says officials hope to get help from the Department of Environmental Protection for emergency repairs from when storm water runoff comes increases flooding in areas between Maidencreek and Oley townships. Willow Creek has suffered much erosion damage and sediment buildup. Meck says the emergency permits give the township until mid-October to complete the Willow Creek work but he hopes the state will clear the sediment.
