(Reading, PA) -- Berks County officials want state lawmakers to reauthorize legislation for funding for 9-1-1 call centers that expires in January. County commissioners passed that measure Monday night and also approved a resolution that would increase funding for the call centers. County Director of Emergency Services Brian Gottschall says the centers' programs are too important to be threatened by underfunding. He says if the state legislators don't renew the statue, the revenue will have to be made up by individual cities and property owners.
