Berks County Veterans Camp Out To Raise Awareness
(Reading, PA) -- People in Berks County who want to support homeless veterans have found a unique way to do that. The Berks County Veterans Affairs bureau Office has hosted its first Homeless Veterans Night Out Friday night at the intersection of 7th Street and Cherry Street in downtown Reading. The event raised funds from the community and private sponsors, with proceeds supporting the Berks County Veterans Temporary Assistance Grant program. It's estimated that on any given night, nearly 30 veterans are experiencing homelessness in Berks County.
