Turtle Structure Gets New Head

Turtle Structure Gets New Head

(Reading, PA) -- A sculpture of a marble snapping turtle in Reading's City Park has received a new head after more than 100 years of not having one. The turtle is part of a statue replaced in the park this week after extensive rehabilitation by Kreilick Conservation, Springfield Township and Montgomery County. The Reading City Council had approved the repair work in April at a cost of around 18-thousand-dollars. The project was funded from a pool of 135-thousand-dollars in unused capital improvement project monies.
