Reading City Council Adopts New Budget for 2024
(Reading, PA) -- Reading City leaders have voted to approve a budget of more than 109-million-dollars for 2024. The final spending plan adopted Monday night will keep the city's property tax rate the same as it was for 2023. The tax bill for a property assessed at 100-thousand-dollars will remain at just under 18-hundred dollars. The budget approved will also transfer about five-and-a-half-million-dollars from the general fund's surplus to balance spending The general fund surplus currently contains 48-million-dollars.
