Reading's Peanut Bar to Celebrate Its 100 Years throughout 2024
(Reading, PA) -- A drinking establishment in Reading will be celebrating 100 years as a family business. Owner Michael Leifer tells WFMZ-TV his parents founded the Peanut bar on Penn Street in 1924 during prohibition. The yearlong celebration to mark the bar's centennial will continue throughout next year. Special T-shirts are being made, and "Journey through the Decades" nights are also in the works.
