Attorneys Say Next State Budget Must Begin To Address School Funding Inequities

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Lawyers for some state schools are calling on the legislature to announce a multiyear plan to fund education spending gaps. They also want those measures to begin this year in the budget that Governor Shapiro will present next month. They have proposed that lawmakers add an extra two-billion-dollars to public education funds, followed by one-billion-dollars a year for each of the next four years. The attorneys say the extra money would address shortfalls that will likely come in the future.
