(Berks County, PA) -- Projects that focus on the prevention and treatment of the opioid abuse in Berks County have been given a huge financial boost. The Council on Chemical Abuse board of directors recently approved contract allocations totaling nearly 214-thousand-dollars for three projects. The money comes from the Berks County Opioid Settlement Fund. Recipients include the Treatment Access and Services Center, a group called Creating Lasting Family Connections and the newly-formed Mortality Review Team, which reviews cases to find potential gaps in local services.
