> Science Center Gets State Grant To Encourage Young Women In STEM Education

(Reading, PA) -- Reading's Science Center will soon be getting money from the state to encourage young women toward studies in STEM education. The 25-thousand-dollars comes in the form of a grant from the state Department of Education for their Sisters in STEM program. The after-school offering has the objective of helping girls in grades four through six break societal stereotypes and become more interested in science programs. The SIS program offers field programs to spark interest as well as scientific women speakers who can become role models for potential careers.
